Innotec Solutions provides a full-fledge of security solutions, and one of the solutions we provide is the intrusion detection solutions, also known as alarm solutions.

We are specialized in wireless alarm system, which does not need to pull cables from point to point. This system is exceptionally good and suitable for residential like HDB apartments, condominium, and so on. As houses nowadays have concealed wirings, wireless system will be the choice. Although there will still be cabling needed for the control panel to the various points, but those are just minor wirings, hence it will minimize a lot of cabling work.

Monitored System vs. Self-Monitored System

Monitored systems is normally link to a customer service centre provided by the security company themselves, who will monitor on their client’s alarm system so that the client doesn’t need to monitor their alarm system themselves. Normally clients have to pay a monthly subscription fee for such system.
However, such monitored system does not link to the police, and the police will not go to the premise upon trigger of alarm. The customer service personnel who is alert that your premise is triggered; they will give you a ring t inform you and will ask you to double check at your side. Once you acknowledge that everything is fine, they will deactivate the alarm and activate them back for you. The customer service personnel will not call the police on behalf of you should there be a need. Their job is only to inform you on the trigger and do the arming and disarming of the alarm system as required.

Self-Monitored system is a system which is monitored by the client by themselves. This system is not link to any customer service centre of the security company, rather, the system is link to a fixed telephone line and this will enable the system to call out to the programmed number(s) whenever there is a trigger in the alarm system. With the advanced technologies, you will be able to arm/ disarm the alarm remotely via your phone.
As a customer service representative is not needed to help you monitor your house alarm, you will be able to save a whole lump sum of money annually, which you may needed to incur if you engage a security company to monitor it for you.
Having the security company to monitor your premise for you don’t activates the police and the procedure will be the same as self-monitoring, hence why not save up the unnecessary additional cost for better use.

Wireless Alarm System vs. Wired Alarm System

Wireless Alarm System main advantage is that they need minimal cabling for such system. Many clients may have the mentality that the wireless system will be much more expensive than the wired system, but that may not be the case anymore. As technology advance and more wireless system is launched, the price of the wireless alarm system has gone down and you may be surprised that the price of the wireless system may be much lower than the wired system.
A wireless system is most suitable for housing with concealed wirings as they do not need to lay much cables from point to point. However, there are also limitations to wireless alarm. Wireless alarm normally caters to single level building which is not larger than 1,000 square feet. As the wireless alarm system detect via 2.4GHz, they might not be able to penetrate through multiple walls and ceiling.

Wired Alarm System is always recommended for stable connection. However, wired system will have cables laying around the premises from point to point. However, a wired system is a lot more stable as the signal is transmitted to the control panel directly through the cables laid.
As cablings are incurred, the price of wired system may be much higher than that of wireless system due to the amount of time and labour needed for cabling, and cables is needed, which incur into different price for different length.

Frequent Asked Questions

Why should I have a security alarm system?

Having a security alarm system may decreases the chances of a burglary/ break-in. Even if the alarm system does not keep a burglar from breaking in, it may cause the burglar to stay a shorter amount of time.

What should a security alarm system include?

Most systems rely on a combination of contacts placed at doors and windows and motion sensors.
It is best that all exterior potential points of entry have contacts that triggers when they are open.

Motion sensors should not be used as the primary means of detection because they do not detect someone until they are already in the house.

The basic elements of a standard home security system include:

Control Panel– This is where contacts and sensors will communicate with, the backup battery is located (if applicable) and where it is connected to the phone lines if it is a monitored system.

Keyfob– This is the equipment used to arm and disarm the system.

Strobelight– This is the device which will produce the siren sound and light when the system triggers.

Motion Detector– These sense changes in a room caused by human presence.

Door and Window Contacts– This sounds the alarm when the door or window is opened.

Fixed Telephone Line– This is needed to link the system to the telephone, in any case where the alarm is triggered, the control panel can dial out to the designated number programmed inside the control panel.
